It is now decided to replace a number of EN Industrial Packaging Standards, by ISO Standards.
The elimination of existing European Standards, by truly International ISO ones will take place in the course of 2008.
SEFA is involved in the CEN Committees dealing with these changes and support this initiative.
Steel drums are used worldwide for transport of dangerous good under international regulations; they will now have to be produced according to one International standard.
This will induce no change for the Drums produced in Europe, since they already comply with ISO.
Consequence: EN 209 and EN 210 for large steel drums and EN 12928 for closures, will be replaced by ISO 15750 part 1-2-3 in the course of this year.
Several others EN standards for Industrial packaging will also be replaced by ISO.
